This snapshot of the 2024 American Society of Administrative Professionals’ State of the Profession report offers insights into how professional development can increase APs’ earning potential and boost AP recruitment and retention.

Administrative professional (AP) roles require a vast and ever-growing roster of competencies. In addition to a reported average of 22 different tasks as part of their key responsibilities, APs acquired an average of six new technical skills in the last year alone. To succeed in this challenging environment, APs must embrace professional development opportunities— and the data clearly shows that they do so with enthusiasm.
