Building AI Agents for EAs

Learn to build AI agents for real EA tasks. Four sessions cover Claude Cowork, Copilot Cowork, and ChatGPT Work, with a step-by-step blueprint and live builds.

What's Included?

AI agents are the breakthrough of 2026. Tools that don’t just respond to you, but work for you: monitoring your inbox, prepping your meetings, chasing what’s outstanding.

Most EAs have heard the word “agent” everywhere but haven’t had a clear, practical path to building one.

This course changes that. Across three on-demand sessions and one live workshop, you’ll learn what agents are, follow a step-by-step blueprint for designing one, and watch real agent builds solving real EA problems – no code required.

You’ll leave with a working blueprint, practical ideas you can put into action, and the skills to start orchestrating AI-powered workflows in your role.

Note that this course focuses on the agentic tools already sitting in your toolkit – Claude Cowork, Copilot Cowork, and ChatGPT Work. Demos are within Claude Cowork but learning is relevant across all three tools.

Who Will Benefit?

This course is designed for executive assistants and executive support professionals who are confident using AI tools day to day and are ready for the next step: AI that takes action, not just AI that answers. If you’ve mastered prompting and perhaps built a custom AI assistant, agents are your logical next move.

Level of Difficulty/Prerequisites:

This is an intermediate course and you should be comfortable using an AI chatbot like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Gemini before joining, and familiarity with custom AI assistants (Custom GPTs, Copilot Agents, Gemini Gems) is helpful but not required. No technical background or coding experience is needed. This course covers three agentic tools specifically – Claude Cowork, Copilot Cowork, and ChatGPT Work – so you’ll need access to at least one of them to get the full benefit. Everything in the live session can be followed without building along in real time.

Course Schedule

Session 1: AI Agents Explained: What They Are and Why They Change Everything

Before you build, you need to know what you’re working with. This session demystifies AI agents: what they are, how they differ from the chatbots and custom AI assistants you already know, and what an agent actually needs in order to work. We’ll contrast the old way of working with the new, so you can see exactly where agents fit into an EA’s world.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Explain what AI agents are and how they differ from chatbots and custom AI assistants
  • Identify the building blocks an agent needs to do its job, including data privacy considerations
  • Find Skills in your agentic workflows tool, and understand the role they play in agent-building

Great agents don’t start with technology – they start with a well-designed plan. This session introduces a six-step blueprint for designing an agent, then puts it into practice with a live demo: building an inbox-management agent that identifies messages needing action and drafts meeting replies and follow-up responses. You’ll see how each step of the framework shows up in a real working agent, and how starting small and layering on instructions builds a stronger tool than starting from scratch.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Apply a six-step framework to design an AI agent from scratch
  • Identify the EA use cases best suited to an agent (and the ones that aren’t)
  • Follow a live demo building an inbox-management agent – starting small, then layering on
  • Handle data and privacy considerations before you build

This is where it all comes to life. In this session, you’ll watch a complete agent build from blank page to working tool – turning a pile of forwarded receipts into a repeatable expense workflow that extracts the information, organizes it, flags anything that needs human judgment, and updates an expense tracker. Along the way you’ll pick up the foundational habits that separate a frustrating build from a smooth one: starting small, letting AI do the heavy lifting, and knowing when to let the agent flag something rather than guess.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Follow a complete agent build from idea to working tool
  • Make the 6-step framework real using a useful Agent Build Companion doc
  • Use AI itself to accelerate your build
  • Apply pro tips for starting small, iterating and setting sensible guardrails
  • Recognize the mindset shift from AI user to AI orchestrator – and what it means for your role

October 15th, 1:00PM-2:15PM Eastern Time

In this live session, we bring everything together. Working from real agent ideas submitted by you in advance via our Circle space, we’ll walk through an agent build together live – applying the blueprint from start to finish to solve a genuine executive support problem. You’ll shape the builds live through chat, we’ll look at how to grow from one agent to an agent ecosystem, and we’ll close with the bigger picture: what the agentic era means for EAs, and why you’re better prepared for it than you think.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Apply the full agent blueprint to new, real-world EA challenges
  • Contribute to and critique live agent builds
  • Think strategically about building a suite of agents over time
  • Understand where agentic AI is heading and how to stay ahead of it
